Want

Want
I want to play in mud puddles
and kiss you in the rain,
my pinky holding your pinky,
with nothing to explain.
I want to wake up beside you
and gently touch your face,
expressing more with just a touch
than words could ever say.
I want to watch as you create
reflections of your heart,
crafts and candles infused with love,
a kindness you impart.
I want to give you my shoulder
and tightly hold you close
when the world crushes your spirit
and you need me the most.
I want to live my life with you,
sharing everything,
from heartaches and tears, to all the
chores and joys of living.
In all of the ways that I can
I just want to love you,
as simple as those words may sound
it’s all I want to do.

Lovely, Purple, and the first verse was especially delightful:
I want to play in mud puddles
and kiss you in the rain,
my pinky holding your pinky,
with nothing to explain.
The simplicity of desiring love in our loves; wonderful job!
Michael,
It’s the wants in life that can be full filled. And the simple little words that mean the most. The puddles, the pinkys and the plans along with the sharing and shoulders. Can it get any better? I say yes. With each day it gets better. And I’m so very glad. A beautiful poem from a beautiful person. Loved it. —— TY—- Ashley
Ashley, simple little words are sometimes the hardest to get from the heart to paper, but I keep trying!! I too am very glad, each moment, each day I smile more, giggle too, and my list of “wants” seems to get longer and longer as more and more ideas start to flow and become reality. I am happy you like the poem and even happier that you see more in me than I sometimes do in myself — but then again, I also see a beautiful person in more ways than I could ever find the words to express in you!! Let’s keep wanting the same things (as well as different things too) as long as we want them together.
