Maybe, just maybe

 

But maybe, just maybe, someday,

after all is said and done,

I will find that the journey

is all that truly matters.

 

After all is said and done,

if I learn that being

is all that truly matters,

perhaps it won’t be too late?

 

If I ever learn that being

is not the same as what I do,

perhaps it won’t be too late

to learn who I am?

 

It’s not the same as what I do,

but who knows if

learning who I am

is worthwhile after all?

 

And who knows if

we will find our journeys

were worthwhile after all,

but maybe, just maybe, someday …
