Purple's Platitudes

nothing but words …

her words

21 August 2013

her words

her words once thrilled me, because I wanted to believe

that her words were written only for me

but I’ve watched her words withdraw, pass on to someone new

someone who thinks her words are unique, true

I smile at her words remembering what they once meant

although now I question her words’ intent

how do her words adapt and change so well?

her words a polished pitch designed to sell

I’m sure her words reflect her honest desire, but still

she recycles her words hoping they will be fulfilled

and perhaps her words teach me something about my own

with her words she is just trying not to be alone
