Purple's Platitudes

nothing but words …

physics, philosophy, and me

09 March 2014

I choose what’s easy,

convenience over effort,

daring little new.

Boundaries, mostly self-imposed,

aren’t as “safe” as they might seem.

I must have limits,

for keeping out, keeping in,

but not set in stone.

Challenge, expand, push further;

go beyond what’s familiar.

I fear stagnation,

yet I’m cautious, paralyzed,

within my own walls.

One small step over the line,

makes it easier next time.

They say growth happens

against a force that resists.

Does stubbornness count?

What will it take to move me?

I’ve grown comfortable at rest.
