Purple's Platitudes

nothing but words …

people count

people count

we need to ask,

need to care sincerely,

to care about people.

Ask sincerely, people count.

this is an attempt at a square poem, read it horizontally and vertically, it should make sense. Lewis Carroll wrote perhaps the most famous example, see the link in the comment and be amazed and maybe even inspired to give it a try yourself. I only tried four words, he wrote six per line.

Squarely Done

Squarely Done

I lastly beg for mercy true,

Lastly wish, once Death forgets Life,

Beg once her touches, her perfume,

For Death touches all, but lightly.

Mercy forgets her, but she lives!

True Life, perfume lightly, lives loved.
